Cody Davis - backside tailslide at the Tampa Am.  He did well in this contest - made semi's and turned alot of heads with a kickflip backsmith in one of his runs
Here's Joey Petrucci at the King of the Groms.  I'm loving this old school Andrect - fully inverted, no pads and totally rad.  To bad he's too old to enter this year.
Now off to the Tampa Pro.  Here is Billy Marks with a kickflip frontside lipslide.  Look how high he catches this thing!!  Yes, this is a kickflip.
You ever wonder how Swamp Trog got his nickname? Here's how: We told Jaime that we all did the moat race on our first trip to Tampa which was a complete lie.  We also told him that if he didn't do it, he would never be allowed to come back to Tampa with us ever again.  With those 2 things combined - Jaime decided to enter!!! He got 8th place and much respect.

Our good friend Elijah Collard is a damn good skateboarder and he's also like a 10th degree black belt (no lie).  It's actually pretty easy to believe when you look at this pic.  The winner of the 1st annual Roots Hippy Jump - about 4.5 feet!

The Whodi himself - Jamiel Nowparvar with a backside smith bonk up the round rail.  This pic is from TOP SHOP and his team (Familia) did real good even with their guest rider; a local grom named Logan.  He won his place on the team in a lottery they held.

This is Rob Warrens at the O.U.T. Championship.  Our locals were giving him the vibe becuase he had some unique tricks.  I thought he was rad and he took it like a man.  I think he ended up in 3rd place and he'll probably win it this year.
One of our team riders - Jack Olson.  This kid gets better everyday and will soon make a big name for himself.  This shot is from the Volcom Wild in the Parks Comp.
Ian Sherman bluntslides backside past all of the advertisements during the Hometown Heroes Contest.  Once we had a parent complain about all of the banners in the park - she said it made the skatepark look 'dirty'.
Swamp Trog's first action pic on the site.  He went from pretty bad to pretty good in the year 2006.  Here he is just blasting a backside ollie outside in the boomerang.
Old man Munzy makes an appearance in the year in review.  He blew everybodys mind with a 117 kickflips in a row on this 90 degree day.  A record that could possibly never be broken in the state of Minnesota.
Jason Barr goes huge frontside at the Warped Tour and adds a little nosebone for style points.  Another day out in the hot sun, on the hot pavement with a ton of hot bands, among other hot things.
If David Loy dyed his hair black - he would look like 'jimbo' from the simpsons.  With that said this kid is for sure a future pro and I'm stoked that he's in the year in review!  This pic is from the Damn Am.
My first intentional double exposure and Jessie Stanton gets the honors.  A frontside air shot at the Midwest Melee from both angles - bottom of quarterpipe and the top.  Superimposed on one another and altered in photoshop.  Well i thought it was rad!
A standard frontside nosegrind by Rick McCrank at the Girl/Chocolate demo.  But what I like about this pic is all the local heads in the background.
One of my all-time idols - Christian Hosoi blasts frontside on this ollie from deep to shallow.  The distanced traveled on this was just insane; about 20 feet!
Chris Lehman is one of my favorite Tampa rippers (Matt Gilles is a very close 2nd).  Notice the shoes, the smoke, the shoelace bandanna, the muscle T, the bangs in front of the eyes...  this kids got more style then most.
Its just a lien to tail up the extension but man look at those dreads!  Tosh Townend letting it all hang out at the Surf Expo in September.
Shane Golder ruled at the Mn. State Fair - he gave the crowd want they wanted - and they wanted AIR!!!  This frontside ollie is rad becuse you can tell he's just so on it.
and now for the number one MullaPic
of the year...
Look closely at this pic because it tells a rad story.  First off, look at all the kids - can't you just feel their joy and happiness?  Boys and girls, black and white, some real young, others older, some are hispanic, some asian; some many nationalities represented.  This pic would've never happened unless it was for my sister (Mel) who works at this school.  Whittier school is located in uptown Minneapolis, a public school, grades 1st - 6th.  We did a real small demo here in June.  Just brought a couple of ramps and a flatbar, but thats all it took to get these kids hyped on skateboarding.  This was shot just after the demo was over and Ian Sherman went into the crowd to high 5 everyone.  As you can see the kids were just ecstatic.  Literally falling over one another to get a touch from Ian.  I like this pic so much because it just reminds me of why we do what we do here at the 3rd Lair - and what is that you might ask?  Our job is to bring the joy and happiness of skateboarding to anybody and everybody, as often as we can, everyday of our life.  Thats it - we provide people a place to skateboard and if they cant come to us, then we'll go to them, as in this case.  Check out the rest of the pics from this little demo and feel free to give us some feedback in the guest book.
